Bruce Day

Bruce Day Bruce graduated in 1985 from the State University of New York with a teaching degree in Physical Education and a business degree in Sports Management. He opened his first health club in upstate New York which he operated for three years before relocating to Sarasota Florida where from 1990 to 1994 he established a highly successful personal training company on Longboat Key Florida. In 1995 and 1996 Bruce opened two (2) twenty thousand sq ft Gold’s Gyms in Sarasota and Bradenton Florida where he oversaw daily operations of over five thousand members, seventy five employees, and over two million in gross sales. Bruce pioneered two TV shows; one, a 30 minute educational program called “Honest Fitness” and the other a news segment called “Eat Wise and Exercise” that combined were on the air for over 12 years. He’s also had the opportunity to lecture in schools, colleges, hospitals, churches, prisons, and in many corporate settings. Through classes’ seminars and one on ones he’s counseled and trained well over 10,000 people. Bruce's latest venture is Eat Wise and Exercise® Inc., a company that develops and distributes nutrition and fitness educational DVDS. For the last 2 ½ years as a resident of Siesta Key, Bruce has witnessed a tremendous need for a top notch fitness facility on the Island which has led to the development and opening of the Siesta Key Fitness Center.

De Day

De Day De recieved her Bachelors in Exercise Science in 1999 from Indiana University. She Moved to Florida to pursue an internship with Sarasota county, where she worked as the fitness director overseeing more than 10, 000 employees. Managing the fitness center and organizing health and fitness related programs, led her to Gold's Gym. As the fitness director of Gold's Gym, she managed her staff of group exercise instructors while teaching a variety of group classes herself. Over the last 9 years, De developed her personal fitness training career while working with hundreds of people. This has given her the ability to do what she loves best, help people become healthy and become their best "self". De also enjoys running, biking, kayaking, and resistance training. Her spare time is spent with her family and closest friends.

Reggie Karges

Staff: Reggie Karges When you meet Reggie you will immediately understand why we consider him the heart and soul of the Siesta Key fitness Center.

Reggie grew up in upstate new york, and In addition to being a fitness fanatic, he is the most sincere and enthusiastic young man you may ever meet.

Courtney Dewitt

Staff: Courtney Dewitt Courtney is a life long native of Siesta Key. She is a certified personal trainer and specialist in performance nutrition with International Sports Sciences Association.

In addition to weight training she enjoys biking, running, rollerblading and walking her two black labs.

John J. Selzler

Staff: John Selzler A native of Velva, ND, John began his career in 1996 as a performance coach with Frappier Sports Acceleration. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Corporate Fitness from Minot State University in 1999. In 2000, he attained Certification as a Health-Fitness Instructor (HFI) by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). John then continued his education by earning a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2006. In addition to these credentials, John has 11 years of training experience including 6 years training professional athletes as a Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Baltimore Orioles. During his tenure with the Orioles he worked a variety of off-season jobs in the field of exercise/fitness including physical therapy, chiropractic therapy, personal training, and performance training. John is Certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. John moved to Sarasota in 2006. His love of Sarasota grew from his numerous visits while working for the Baltimore Orioles (Twin Lakes Park). John continues to enjoy training athletes as well as fitness clients and believes that the variety created is a benefit to both him and his clients.

Cindy Galik

Staff: Cindy Galik In 1994 Cindy received the physical fitness specialist certification from The Cooper Institute of Aerobics Research in Dallas, Texas. Returning to school to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1999 at USF with a focus on motivation, rehabilitation and body image allowed her to offer a more balanced approach to fitness. Completion of a personal training certification from Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) in 2005 and recertification in 2007 along with participation in continuing education classes keeps her abreast of the latest in the fitness industry.

Teresa Moreland

Staff: Tereas Moreland Teresa lives on Siesta Key with her husband Kevin and their 3 dogs. Shortly after she retired full-time work from her family business in 2001, she pursued a second career in fitness and started working for the YMCA where she obtained several certifications including Personal Training and Group Exercise instruction of classes such as Mat/Ball Pilates, Cardio/Step, Xerball (medicine ball), and the SilverSneakers program which involves working with active senior adults. Teresa has worked the past 6 years for various fitness gyms teaching students of all ages, including Gold's Gym and the YMCA, thus gaining valuable knowledge from her students. Receiving a B.S. Degree in Management Information Systems with a minor in Business Administration aids her in planning and organizing the best program for her students. Teresa's hobbies include spending time with family and friends, kayaking, biking, fishing, going to church, and playing the piano.
