Bruce Day - Owner
Bruce graduated in 1985 from the State University of New York with a teaching degree in Physical Education and a business degree in Sports Management.
He opened his first health club in upstate New York which he operated for three years before relocating to Sarasota Florida where from 1990 to 1994 he established
a highly successful personal training company on Longboat Key Florida. In 1995 and 1996 Bruce opened two (2) twenty thousand sq ft Gold’s Gyms
in Sarasota and Bradenton Florida where he oversaw daily operations of over five thousand members, seventy five employees, and over
two million in gross sales. Bruce pioneered two TV shows; one, a 30 minute educational program called “Honest Fitness” and the other
a news segment called “Eat Wise and Exercise” that combined were on the air for over 12 years.
He’s also had the opportunity to lecture in schools, colleges, hospitals, churches, prisons, and in many corporate settings.
Prior to opening the Siesta Key Fitness Center, Bruce founded Eat Wise and Exercise Inc., a company that developed and produced nutrition and fitness educational dvd’s.
Through classes’ seminars and one on ones he’s counseled and trained well over 10,000 people.
De Day - Owner
De recieved her Bachelors in Exercise Science in 1999 from Indiana University. She Moved to Florida to pursue an internship with Sarasota county, where she worked as the fitness director overseeing more than 10, 000 employees. Managing the fitness center and organizing health and fitness related programs, led her to Gold's Gym. As the fitness director of Gold's Gym, she managed her staff of group exercise instructors while teaching a variety of group classes herself. Over the last 9 years, De developed her personal fitness training career while working with hundreds of people. This has given her the ability to do what she loves best, help people become healthy and become their best "self". De also enjoys running, biking, kayaking, and resistance training. Her spare time is spent with her family and closest friends.
Reggie Karges
When you meet Reggie you will immediately understand why we consider him the heart and soul of the Siesta Key fitness Center.
Reggie grew up in upstate new york, and In addition to being a fitness fanatic, he is the most sincere and enthusiastic young man you may ever meet.
Mike Kaplonski
Mike graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science from University of Tampa in 2005. Once finishing his degree Mike moved back to Venice, FL and began working at Lifestyle’s Family Fitness as a personal trainer. He had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients including seniors, weight management, sports specific, and youth in the two years he spent there. For the past three years Mike worked at Sarasota Memorial Hospital’s Healthplex fitness center. There he expanded his knowledge of fitness and began to work with cardiac rehab and physical therapy clients. Mike enjoys playing basketball, resistance training, and the outdoors.
Rob Gallagher
Rob grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Tarkio College in Missouri with a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education, and was a two sport (track and football) scholarship athlete. Rob has been in the fitness industry since 1992 and is excited about joining The Siesta Key Fitness Center staff.
